Royal Tulum Beach & Spa Resort

Can’t wait for our 18th visit in 2026! Yes, we returned for our 17th year at CRT and enjoyed a most wonderful week again at our second home! This is a place to come and truly rest and relax. We have been asked why we don’t try another resort and it is because the CRT is perfect for us; a beautiful beach, lovely accommodations, small and quiet. We always enjoy the breakfast and lunch buffets and find our favorite restaurants for dinner. There are activities during the day should you want to try and thank you to Diego for periodically checking in to see if we wanted to close our books and move from our lounge chairs! There have been changes over the years but what has never changed is the most amazing staff! Many have been working there over 10 years and we are so happy to see them every year we return. They are most gracious, always smiling, and work very hard. Please don’t forget to tip them! We want to thank our dear friends for taking such good care of us; Miguel Gomez, Guest Services you always check in with us to see if we need anything. Also from guest services we would like to thank Daniel, Daniela, and Miguel 2 for all your attention. To the beloved wait staff we can’t say enough; Rosario, Carlos, Sandy, Argel, Gabriel, Esther, Roberto, Aricelli, Alex, Angeles, Flaviano, Arturo, Betzebe, Noemi, Leydi, Maria, Yolanda, and Quetzebel. Thank you to our dear Nelsy in Reception! And thank you to the housekeeping staff, we always returned to a clean and tidy room with all that we needed. You all are truly the heart of CRT. We wish all the staff at the CRT our very best until we return in 2026!

Had an incredible 10 days at Hotel Catalonia royal Tulum. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The entertainment staff are fantastic. The options for food are varied and delicious. I had the pleasure of having a massage at Algeria spa with Diana and was directed by Lucely at the front desk who was so kind and helpful. I will be coming back and would definitely recommend it to others.

Rodrigo and Esther at Rauxa provided exceptional service — the food and drinks were outstanding. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends!

Loved our time here. It was so relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the beach, reading, napping, playing in the waves. Swam in the pool, got a couples massage, ate some yummy food. They took great care of us!

My partner and I stayed at this resort for a week and loved it! Everything was clean, staff was friendly, and it was mostly quiet. Beach was cleaned daily and the entertainment staff was wonderful!

Me, my wife, and our friends had an absolutely incredible vacation to this resort the staff were accommodating and very professional. Particularly Michelle, Daniel, and Elias at the margarita bar in the lobby they went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time, anything we needed they did not hesitate to help us, they gave us an extremely relaxing holiday and we will be returning, I HIGHLY recommend the Catalonia royal tulum for anyone looking to vacation in the area. 10/10 Make sure to try the scooby snack shot at the margarita bar, they do not disappoint !!

Very quiet resort. We had lots of fun. Staff was amazing.

Just left June10th, stayed for 7 nights. Good and bad.. Good always first. Setting is magnificent (jungle leading to the beach). Rooms are very secluded with the jungle setting. Rooms are spacious. The night life seems to end after dinner due to hanging at the pool all day and there is limited night events as the turn out from people staying at the resort is low. Their entertainment staff is phenomenal and they do everything to make you have a good time. I feel like they work 18 hrs days because you see them at 9am in the pool and you see them at 9:30pm doing the night entertainment. Pool is very large and can accommodate a lot of folks in it at one time especially due to the sargassum. Just know if you go mid May-July you will mostly be in the pool due to the large amount of sargassum. The staff worked extremely hard attempting to clear the beach but it was a losing battle. Staff was friendly and provided most assistance when needed. Bad: Catalonia please make a real app its 2025. The dinner app was something. Their A/C needs updating. We did have an issue on our first night and moved at 12 midnight to another room. If your thermostat is a round dial and not digital ask to move rooms. The new room had perfect AC. Restaurants- Italian one was the worst, just keep it simple. The food was typical all inclusive resort food. There was nothing way over the top. AS for the Privilege upgrade don't do it. We did as this was our first time, and the only benefit was the BeLoved Restaurant that we ate at twice. Pool staffing NEEDS to be increase with 80% of the resort in the pool during 11am-3pm. Many times there was only ONE bar tender and at most two. They need at least three. Lastly if you go its definitely a nice resort. Just plan on a couple of excursions and I believe you will have one of the best vacations. We used Tantum Travel for our excursions and they were amazing but the resort has contract folks in their lobby.
